Y-Guides web site

Here's the new Y site http://yguides.wikispaces.com/ that has lots of interesting info about the Y-Guides program.

Who's going to Orkila?

Who’s going to Orkila? October 13-15. Nate and Spencer probably can't make it this time, how about you? Sign-ups are due by Sept. 25. Is someone who’s going willing to volunteer to be our point person? It’s really easy, just make sure everyone is signed up and paid. Additional info can be found on the Y site http://yguides.wikispaces.com Click on Events and Activities (left-hand side of the home page).

Sunday, September 03, 2006

Date: Labor Day, Sept. 4
Time: 5pm until we run out of water or energy
Location: Dragon Park (Deanes Children’s Park), adjacent to Island ParkElementary
What to bring: We brought a cooler which we filled half way and thentransported in the glass recycling bin to catch spillage. That seemed towork. We brought about three gallons of water more in jugs and dumped themin the cooler when we arrived. That was enough for 4 of us for about 1.5hours.

You’ll want a towel too. Bring all the squirt guns you’ve got.

It’s tough to figure out in advance(at least it was for us) which ones were going to work at all and work best. And there seems to be plenty of demand for swapping/lending them around.

Rules: No squirting anywhere near other park users. Probably kids vs. dads will work best. Dads get the lousier guns. Time out for refilling orinjury must be respected. That was the end of the list for us.
